Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to examine modern and advanced computer architectures at graduate level and to provide students with in-depth knowledge of processor design, instruction set architectures, pipelining, cache hierarchies, memory systems, parallel processing, multicore architectures, and performance evaluation.

This course covers instruction set architectures, processor organization, pipeline design, data and control hazards, branch prediction, superscalar architectures, out-of-order execution, cache structures, memory hierarchy, virtual memory, multicore processors, parallel computer architectures, GPU architectures, energy efficiency, and performance analysis.
