Level of Course Unit Bachelor's Degree
Department / Program INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN
Type of Program Formal Education
Type of Course Unit Compulsory
Course Delivery Method Face To Face
Objectives of the Course The course aims to teach basic design concepts and principles with applied three-dimensional design studies and to understand the design process. In doing so, the goal is for students to develop their critical thinking and adopt an approach that explores, questions, and seeks alternative solutions to problems in the design process. Against a backdrop of abstract and concrete conceptual discussions, students will develop the ability to create a strong representation of the formal expression of design, particularly the relationship between body and space.
Course Content The course includes three-dimensional design studies in which students acquire knowledge, skills, and awareness to critically examine and solve design problems within the context of real and virtual life scenarios through the concepts of interior design, context, and content.
Course Methods and Techniques The course will be delivered through theoretical presentations, discussions, design practices and projects to be completed in studio and/or as homework, individual and/or group study, discussion sessions, and individual critiques.
